Week 9: Abandoned

The challenge for Week #9 of the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge is “Abandoned“.

Set in Tucker Valley, Trinidad, along the stretch of roadway from Chaguaramas Bay to Macqueripe, is where Mt. Pleasant Village was located. Now a National Heritage Site, all that remains is an abandoned graveyard alongside the ruins of St. Chad’s Church, remnants of the Village, and the tomb of Amelia Tripp.

[Amelia Tripp was the daughter of William Tucker, the then attorney of the Macqueripe Estate, and the wife of Edgar Tripp, a visionary in the development of the city, who died in 1879 at the age of 23.]
