As mentioned in my last post, today we visited another restaurant as part of our participation in the Table Talk Food Awards Trinidad and Tobago (TTFATT) Restaurant ‘Foodie’ Crawl (from June 11 to 15, 2013).

Located in Ellerslie Plaza Maraval, with its entrance hidden inbetween Häagen-Dazs ice-cream and Marios Pizza, the restaurant Aioli can found.

The décor of this restaurant is beautiful! Sophisticated, gorgeous, personal, as if we just walked into someone’s perfectly decorated home. Loved!

We got escorted to our booth and were handed our menus… the regular lunch menu and a Prix-fixe one. This time around, after weighing our many different choices, we decided on the fixed priced menu for our lunch delights. The Prix-fixe menu included a choice of two different combinations: Appetizer, Entrée, Dessert and a complimentary glass of wine or Appetizer, Salad, Entrée and a complimentary glass of wine. We opted for the latter combination and sat back to make our decisions.

Our meal started off with their signature home-made breads: Olive bread and Potato bread. I loved the olive bread; a nice mix flavours… the potato bread was also good, but my favourite between the two was the olive.

Our food was ordered and much to our delight, served in a very timely manner. My combination was the following: Seafood Minestrone, Mediterranean Salad and the Risotto Funghi – my favourite being the Mediterranean Salad! Wow yum!

My company had the Soup of the Day – the Navy Bean Soup, the Insalante Caprese and the Thai Duck Breast. Sneaking a sample, both the Insalante Caprese and the Thai Duck were favourites.

Too satisfied with our delicious meal to treat ourselves to the beautiful desserts that we saw being brought out for the other patrons, we ended off our lovely lunch with a cup of coffee each. Accompanied with sugar cubes, both of white and brown sugar, this childhood treat (another memory for another day) was a great finish to our delicious lunch.

In addition to any enjoyable experience for the Restaurant Crawl, this visit to Aioli also satisfies the “New Restaurant each Month” item on my 30 Things in 2013 list. So, for their top-notch service and beautiful ambience I would give them an overall rating of was 4.6 stars out of 5.

I am very excited to be able to visit again sometime in the near future. Thank-you to Chef Aboud and our attentive waiter (Ferdinand) for the amazing service and delicious food.
