Throughout history members of the Bahá’í Faith have been persecuted, wrongfully imprisoned, exiled and even put to death in Iran and other places around the world. Members of my own family, and many families I know, have suffered these persecutions under the different fanatical regimes from the beginning of the Faith over 150 years ago.
In 2008, 7 members of the Bahá’í Faith in Iran, both male and female, were wrongfully arrested and put into prison with their only crime being members of the Bahá’í Faith.
A campaign has been started: Five Years Too Many, “calling for the immediate release of these innocent persons, and the release of all innocent prisoners of conscience in Iranian prisons.”
